We were contacted by St. Mary and All Saints’ Church in Bingham, Nottingham, to provide a cost effective solution to their lighting issues. Regular high level re-lamping of the original tungsten halogen fittings along with high running costs meant that a more eco friendly approach was needed along with a reduction in ongoing maintenance. As the existing switching arrangement suited the church and the existing wiring tested to be suitable for continued use, the simple option of replacing the existing fittings was the most efficient answer. We replaced each 300w halogen fitting with a 38w LED projector spot, meaning we could select different beam angles to provide both general and focussed illumination, highlighting important areas of the church and increasing the overall illumination. Additional fittings were installed where required in the Nave to fill in the dark areas created by the previous installation. The work was completed within the specified timescale, and the church will now benefit from lower power consumption and the warden will no longer have to climb up ladders to replace lamps! With a rated lifespan of 50,000 hours for the new fittings and a 5 year parts warranty, this will now provide peace of mind knowing that ongoing maintenance will no longer be an issue. Backed up with our 1 years labour warranty, we shall be on hand to rectify any faults free of charge over the next 12 months.
